Giving this a try, there were dozens of films … something about each though offputting. If we’re older now, you and I, shirley then we should love the old films, as today’s are gauche, overly graphic and Woke?

Time to embark on a general rant now, just skip over it, never mind.

Thing is, I remember my stepfather was a mad keen member of his football club, never missed a game … then he just gave it away … suddenly … stopped his membership. Wasn’t health at that point … he just lost interest. I was much younger, natch, and was still mad keen.

But eventually I just lost interest … I could have put it down to the commercialisation of sport, to the prima donna player aspect, to this incident or that … thing was, I just lost interest … I’d look at the terrace and think nah … not now. Ditto with concerts for bands both major and unsung. Just lost interest.

Cruises, travel, flying, even hiking … nah. Romance? Nooky? Shirley that was still exciting? Could be if there was something special involved, someone special, my spouse … but dating? No thanks. Music? Songs which we all adored, esp. by, say, the Beatles, other groups … nah. Slade, The Specials, The Clash, even The Stranglers, anything Live-Aid like, Springsteen, even Steppenwolf … just lost interest. Classical? Some, not all.

Some songs still stand up for sure, some films … absolutely … we’ve seen a few of them at the site here. Go out dancing? Go out for someone else’s commercial cooking? No thanks. Someone special cooking at home … different other matter … of course that would be great. Or me cooking for her more like … better after-dinner result. Going out for a romantic walk, a carnival? Well of course, except in 2024, when there’s the ever-presnt knifing or rape danger … different world now.

Blog and X/Gab friends? Excellent, would not swap this for the world … not the slightest dipping of energy since 2001, not even today when a bit out of it. No, this is rewarding.

It’s just other things people are doing out there which pale … they can keep them now. Affectation? Maybe.

…..

Late note: the ticker just showed a new upload by a gal called Stacey, asking, “Flute in a rock song?” Quick thinking on my part … could she, an American, mean Tull? Yep, sure could … Thick as a Brick.

Now, as a purist, I want to hear both sides one and two in full and can’t imagine a curtailed, commercial hack-job organised for vloggers. But it’s her … should be interesting what she thinks. Any good, I’ll run it here sometime.

…..

(1643) Live version of Tull, so shorter version allowed … awful titles over the performance, p,us she insisted on long advert two minutes in. Apart from that, she said Ian Anderson made it … I say her reaction made it … loves her music, not just a vlog to make money … maybe it is. Tull as good as ever.

HERE TIS

Plus Toodles wrote, the icing on the cake. Was wondering if my sledding was to blame for the malaise. Nah … something I ate later, plus the cold. The sledding was a blast. Best to all our patrons and other readers.

  1. Trains, planes, automobiles, a spooky house, dastardly villains and a tense finale, what more could we wish for? Very watchable I thought. I’ve read one or two Lone Wolf books but one of the reviews said this film wasn’t necessarily based on one of the books.
