Saturday [11 till close of play]

(1706) Evening all. Unusual strategy here as there really is a dearth of new, substantiated reports … plenty of opinion and speculation. I’m just thinking we need to wait to gather … looking more at a 1900 restart time. Plenty on the MSM … not worth looking at. (1937) Back again.

20. Visegrad 24

“U.S. soldiers filming an Iranian ballistic missile slamming into the ground very close to their position. The Patriot air defense system at the Al Udeid Airbase in Qatar failed to intercept the Iranian missile.”

19. Latest tram report from Moo

18. Patricia Marins in Brazil

“Israeli defense systems fired at least 9 times trying to intercept, without success, 2 Iranian missiles that reached their targets in Tel Aviv. Up to this moment on the first day of the war, Iran has fired fewer than 20 missiles and a few dozen drones toward Israel, but with a high success rate for the missiles, hitting various locations, some of them civilian areas.”

17. From Germany

16. Football news

15. Steve posted two Xs, one from AP, one from Fox

… which naturally showed the Iranian viewpoint on Khomeini not being dead. Israel announced it had seen the body.

14. Starting to open up now

13. Message for future historians

12. Two reports

11. Well, Israel were first with usable footage

  1. Don’t usually start the evening here but Henry Bolton OBE quoted parts of my commentary (Iran related) on here on GB News this evening. I know James posted it in full on X so maybe he read it there, or he could have read it here of course. Henry had a spell as leader of UKIP. I don’t know him but curiously we both have links to the Wessex Regiment. As a regular soldier he served in the Hussars, as did my Dad. Small world sometimes.

    ……

JH: Well well well, Steve … that’s wunnerful.

  2. 12. Two reports – to the first the Israelis have said he is dead, they have footage of the body as it was dug out of the rubble. They hit his office in Tehran early this morning during a high-level meeting. It was also the very first strike in Operation Epic Fury. Result 🙂
