I’ve heard some more recent numbers by them … in fact since the Covid troubles … and they certainly took awhile to get it back together again … the jauntiness, the sense of fun was not there imho. Don’t forget the vaxx factor either.

The singer Erica made to go solo with Shay’s help, then there were the New Orleans authorities who made it clear they were not wanted on the street, which had been their milieu. They did gigs in closed spaces, they went overseas, e.g. to Toulouse in France, they seemed to need money, the playing wasn’t as “on song”, again imho, as if they’d lost their mojo.
