Very sad indeed:

41 years old now, in 2003 she skied the men’s Streif, the Hahnenkamm, near Kitzbuhel, Austria, a mountain I’ve been on, but obviously not racing. However, I did step on and ski a few metres down the edge of the middle section … not easy.

Nine days ago, she did her knees in with, I think, a double ACL, finally coming back and is now at the winter olympics near Milan. To my mind, 41 is really stretching it, esp. with an injury. Again, we always relate things to what we know and have done. I ran the fourth leg of a 4×100 at 44 I think I was and the legs just would not stride out. Five years earlier it might have been ok. We scraped in for the win, no thanks to me.

What gives it an edge today is that some creepy man on Team USA had said he was not skiing for America … he is being excoriated by the nation, except by the treasonous left.

I don’t know her politics, don’t want to know, I had a feeling she was not team MAGA but it matters not in this instance … she said, in contrast to the creep, that she was very much doing it for America. And I know she’s all for women’s sport.

Thus it’s sad for her … and for America. Oh … and that other creepy event today … not remotely interested.

  1. Morgan McSweeney has resigned as Starmer’s Chief of Staff over the Mandelson scandal. He issued the following statement:

“After careful reflection, I have decided to resign from the government. The decision to appoint Peter Mandelson was wrong. He has damaged our party, our country and trust in politics itself. When asked, I advised the Prime Minister to make that appointment and I take full responsibility for that advice……….
