Want to know who is watching you and where from? “The Secret Inner Sanctum of Trafalgar Square”
[ I’d really think twice about joining in any kind of demo in that vicinity]
……
JH: A word to our other posters … I did post that as a url only … it expanded itself ten minutes ago.

15. The 50s and 60s too, I miss it and I’m not much of a Christmas person. What it should be has mostly gone now apart from the mince pies and I eat too many of those as compensation.
I was just thinking about the 50s and 60s myself when I saw 15. The glow of the coal fire, the strings of cards and the twinkling of the tree lights when I got home from school. Also the late post dropping on the mat in the late afternoon – usually more Xmas cards. Remembering to those foil covered chocolate tree ornaments – sitting in the firelight wondering if anyone would noticed if one disappeared? Apparently not if the others were rearranged slightly. 😇
Then commercialism went into top gear and here we are.
Too commercial by far. I feel for the children when they go back to school, they tell each other what presents they got, I can only imagine the emotions of the poor kids. This is a time of year when the gap between the haves, the have a bits and the have littles is revealed to our little ones.
