Re #13 – From memory, it isn’t large enough to run the entire site, and like most such “booster” plants, synchronises its frequency to the grid connection. Any such generator is legally required to instantly disconnect if the grid connection is lost. This is called “Anti Islanding Protection” and is to avoid the risk of power company workers being at risk of shock when restoring lines. The same applies to rooftop solar installations (even those with batteries), unless they have additional switching equipment.
