Oh I don’t know … thought the footage of the event quite good for 1346. Naturally, after Crecy, one reads Agincourt and by degrees … the Siege of Orléans … which in turn involves Jeanne la Pucelle.
There were three earlier 14th century examples of great battles won by infantry against cavalry. So Crécy was nothing special.

Nothing ‘special’ to you because the word English is in it – you’ve got form, mate. The Battle of Crécy was of immense significance, it changed the balance of power in Western Europe with the port Calais falling to the English, who held it for two hundred years.

JH: Oh yes, MD, they used box brownie cameras shot through the air by special arrows. Amazing shots of the heat of battle, cleaned up some centuries later, by AI. So I’m told.
AI voice-overs don’t bother me too much. There is one which has me switching out immediately which sounds like the national treasure Attenbore.
