Is there any evidence that water bombers work? I’ve always assumed that they are the equivalent of “security theatre” – just a chance for politicians to waste money declaring “Look, we’re doing something. Listen, we really care.”
11. Eyes trained on Alaska just now – methinks this meeting will be one for the history books – when two superpowers get together in one room the politics do tend toward the hemispheric. With regard to finishing this war the Americans already know Russia’s bottom line so the job at hand is to get as close as possible to that line, and this is where it gets interesting.
Crimea is non-negotiable, Ukraine’s membership of NATO is disallowed, ‘denazification’ will necessitate a general election and a radical overhaul of the AFU. Russia will retain the DPR and LPR and absorb them into Russian Federation. Russia will offer to withdraw from Sumy and Kharkiv leaving Zaporizhzhia and Kherson up for discussion. That’s my opinion.
