I knew someone daft enough to buy one of Clive Sinclair’s C5s when they appeared. I told him that if he wanted an exotic vehicle he’d have been better off buying a hovercraft. Or a DUKW (we had a trip in one on a crocodile-infested swamp in Queensland: it was exactly the right vehicle for the jaunt.)
