”Last week Labour lost nearly 200 seats in the council elections. The PM said it meant he should go ‘further and faster’ because he was ‘acutely aware that people aren’t yet feeling the benefits.’
Another one with a tin ear is House Leader Lucy Powell, who exploded on-air when a Reform spokesman dared to raise the subject of rape gangs two days after Kemi Badenoch completely failed to nail Sir Keir in PMQs on the need for a national enquiry.”

John Leavy: Why did George Harrison sue Ringo Starr?
I’m NOT an expert on this issue, but here’s the little I know. A more knowledgeable person will undoubtedly give a fuller answer and correct me if I get details wrong.
In the Seventies, Ringo was planning to record one of George’s songs, a tune called “I’ll Still Love You.” George was supposed to come to the studio and play on that track. For some reason, George didn’t show and Ringo recorded the song without him.
Details are hazy, but George was angry and didn’t like Ringo’s recording. He threatened to sue, but eventually they smoothed things over without going to court.

Me: Did a post on the Venetians … well known influence here. I’ll post your summary tomorrow.
Roob: But post the link to the podcast. In fact post the trilogy to understand what the game plan is:
Roob is/was close to Leggy, a most able lass and a great ferreter … our job here is to expose readers to the max “sound” angles possible (takes a long time to establish, needs good intel people) … they’re not always easily readable and accessible, it demands time and time is our most precious commodity just now.
Trouble is … we need to allocate much of our time to reading … and archiving snippets for ourselves … we must have a good archive system, relatively safe from attack. Naturally, I’ll run Unherdables for alap but please do see that I might be snuffed out of it sooner than later … thus your own ferreting then depends on your own archiving system.

As far as I know there are two US Carrier Strike Groups in the Middle East, one in the Red Sea (USS Harry S. Truman) the other in the Eastern Mediterranean (USS Carl Vinson). The latter has the F-35C. With regard to F/A-18 losses we should cut them some slack as they are in a zone of conflict and with an upward tempo things do go wrong. A huge ship like a carrier, executing hard-a-port to avoid an incoming missile? Well if it’s loose it’ll roll. The second where there was a problem with the arresting hook could be a simple malfunction due to extended use – it was a night landing but I don’t know it that had any bearing. The Yanks had been bombing the shit out of the Houthis for six straight days and nights. Here’s some vid:
