  1. Temperature starting to tick up again today. Sunny here with a few of those cotton wool clouds. Nice. Up at Hyde Park the anniversary of the King’s coronation is marked with a 41 gun salute – King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery is quite different from my time in the Royal Regiment of Artillery. Lots and lots of female gunners now as apposed to none when I served. Moving on President Trump has directed the DOJ to “take all necessary action to help secure the release” of former Mesa County Election Clerk, Tina Peters. She’s currently serving 9 years in a Colorado prison for preserving the 2020 Election records.

    ……

JH: Tina P needs out now.

    • Tower of London an hour later: The Honourable Artillery Company fire a 62 gun salute to King Charles – interesting history that unit, met some members when I did advanced trade training at the Royal School of Artillery, Larkhill. Posh folk from the City. Square Mile. For those interested they are part of 77th Brigade. Their peacetime role can be rather different from wartime. That is all.

      ……

      JH: Intel? MilPol?

  2. 12. In restricting the displaying of flags to the Union Flag and the Cross of St George, and not including County flags, Reform were possibly slightly too strict. I wonder who made this decision? The English have loyalty to their locality as well as their country, and to deny them celebrating this, won’t go down well. My opinion, for what it’s worth. Now expecting an email from Reform HQ that I’ve been cancelled.

    ……

    JH: Sounds Farage to me.

  3. some of those might say that the songs were just pop at the time, not meant to be masterpieces … they catered for a niche. I’m thinking Judy In Disguise With Glasses … just fun, like Purple People Eater.

A good example of a fine, well produced, well played, well sung pop song was Crispian St Peters’ Pied Piper … it was what it was, there were no pretensions to greatness in the song,

Oh wow! Talk about flashbacks! I bought all those singles as a child. Played them muchly.
