“Immer öfter werden in letzter Zeit Strafanzeigen gegen Leute gestellt, die irgendetwas auf den Sozialen Medien posten, was politisch nicht opportun ist. Dinge, die noch vor wenigen Jahren nicht mehr als ein Lächeln oder ein Achselzucken hervorgerufen hätten. Auch die ein oder anderen Verurteilungen gibt es schon. Und wisst ihr was? Es wirkt. Inzwischen denke ich bei fast jedem meiner Posts nach, ob ich das so schreiben kann. Ich zensiere mich quasi selbst. Geil oder? So weit sind wir gekommen im besten Deutschland aller Zeiten. Deswegen: lange mach“ ich das hier nicht mehr.”

Bedenken Sie jedoch, Vince, dass, um all dies zu überwinden, zunächst genügend Menschen vorhanden sein müssen, um etwas zu ändern. Außerdem kennen sie uns bereits.

Another sunny day here in Dorset but the drop in temperature to 11°C brings a marked change to what we enjoyed last week. One of my nephews has taken his family to London today to witness the beginning of this week’s VE Day celebrations – going with other families by coach which was organised by his local church. GB News are doing a VE Day Special and as I write Nigel Farage is on with presenters Andrew Pearce and Bev Turner. A big procession is about to start (12:00) with 1,300 members of our military taking part 🙂
I don’t remember any fuss about VE day when I was a boy. It was Armistice Day that we did fuss about.

I concur, there was little to no observance up until the 50th. I certainly can’t remember anything about VE Day even when I was serving. We did a D-Day parade on the 40th at the Commando Memorial, Achnacarry. I was listening to a historian on GB News and she said these commemorations (D-Day VE/VJ Day) only took off in the 1980’s. This VE Day will probably be the last major one where veterans are present. Those with us today are over 96 with the eldest 104.
