The Cuban missile crisis started because the US moved “first strike” missiles into Turkey, on Russia’s doorstep.
If more Americans grasped this simple truth would they perhaps have been less keen to start the Ukraine crisis by trying to move NATO to Russia’s doorstep?
Answer: But the dems who started the whole Ukraine schemozzle may well have understood about Cuba and simply refused to learn the lessons. Or maybe they thought “it’ll be different this time.”

It’s refreshing, (as someone who doesn’t back either Russia or Ukraine) to see entries on this site which acknowledge the wrong doing of Ukraine.
That is something which we have been discussing here since the hostilities started. Incidentally, I knew a family of Ukrainians when I was growing up in the 1960s. The two boys were thugs, if something wasn’t nailed down it disappeared. There are other tales I can tell but suffice to say that early experiences can leave a lasting impression.
