11. Pesky anomalies
Many times I’ve mentioned the Holcombe Syndrome, whereby, in the solving of mysteries, getting it right, even one overlooked scrap can skew the whole conclusion:
“Perry Mason (Purloined Parrot) put it to Sgt Holcombe on the stand … what do you do, Sergeant, when you find anomalous facts which more or less do not agree with the general thrust of evidence?
“You ignore em,” shot back Holcombe.
And obviously, Mason was going to retort … how many have you ignored in this current investigation, Sergeant?”
There’s another analogy, from Sherlock Holmes, I think describing Colonel Moran … as having had an honourable career up to a point but like a straight-trunked tree, started developing eccentricities like wayward branches at strange angles.
There are two people I immediately regard as unreliable … there are hundreds more but two today. One is Leah who has no surname, no backstory beyong DoD … she seems Democrat, and the vast majority of her commenters seem Bluesky types. It’s one thing calling Trump out and we’ve done that here, esp. on Pammy, but these commenters have total TDS before even seeing Leah’s presentation.
Not saying she’s wrong on this point or that, Leah, plus a couple of supposed patriots on X with US flags but an anti admin stance … it’s near impossible to know who owns them, what their bkgd is.
Another very iffy person is Konstantin Kissin. He’s positioned himself with three people, clearly Brit … but he’s not in the least … he’s Russian. Says he’s antiwoke and yet many of his positions over the journey have been questionable, plus being on MSM shows.
Then DAD had something up at NOWP:

The iffy bit is Sky … MSM. Glad Iceland said no but still … Sky?
Then Dolly Parton. I think Toodles was the first to question DPn’s bona fides and she sent receipts. Then she sent me that youtube I’ve linked to twice now in the last few days and it goes into Nashville and Greenville SC being the “Babylonian” hub now, no longer Hollywood/Laurel Canyon.
One thing it goes into is how military men or sons of become entertainers, which gives them reason to be in hotspots, places where things happen. Many readers here know of Bob Hope’s entertaining of the troops and one performer was Joey Heatherington, a teenager who was one of many along the way, a sort of Amanda Bynes, Hayden Panittiere, a Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus. Don’t forget Zappa.
Not only was that going on but Hope himself was linked to letter agencies. Monster according to the accounts of girls. Also Cheney, Kissinger, Rumsfeld, let alone country music stars I’ll not name at this point.
Did you know Bob Hope was British by the way? And then there’s James Blunt, Super-Soldier. Plus certain professed Christians doing weird things in Romania. And if we talk EK, then we also talk TC and CO.
The point of this post item is firstly … not to ignore pesky anomalies, explore them … secondly to not only do your homework but the crucial point is … where? Where are you looking? And thirdly, we are putting question marks next to names and saying why.
Sun Mats too and three
Sun Mat two is the radio play Paul Temple:
… already mentioned earlier. We need a few radio plays for when we need to rest the tired eyes and let the hours fly by.
Sun Mat three is here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astrid_Allwyn
Most reviews were dismissive and perhaps at the time, that washed, but in 2026, it’s a good romp with a reasonable Powell type main man and cute offsider, in my and a few youtube commenters’ eyes too.
Sunday [6 to 10]
(0730) some sort of light out there through the cloud. (0908)
10. Moo revisited

9. Many people in very real trouble now

8. Nepal

7. Crossing that red line

6. Who are the extremists?
… poor Canadian guy could not get a word in edgeways.
Sun Mat one
Not sure this gritty episode is my fave of the series, plus they underused Lola Albright methought … in a later series, she sets up her own nightclub. Both were good, the detective was good, Mother was good. Might pause at 10 episodes, they’re easily found on the tube.
Sunday [1 to 5]

5. My question about this might surprise

Yes, of course I agree on the general thrust of the item but I have another question … and DAD might like to answer it … what’s an 89 year old man (trudging, walking stick) doing driving in today’s nightmare conditions? Not only this:

… but also the danger to girls and the elderly out there, even with spray or walking stick … they attack in packs, the cowards, inc. the new feral yoof. Plus we do start slowing down … fine at our own pace but that’s not the pace that lot are going at in their manic digital world.
Plus one does NOT wish to see the inside of a hospital or care home … you all know why.
On the other hand, independence, freedom, which is the core reason for Orphans (the site) to exist by the way, is fiercely protected as Them move to remove it … I for one can understand that.

2. Another Paul Temple
This new one is from the days of DR and NO, making it an old one … in fact the earliest I remember ever listening to in the series and yes, like Fido, I had completely forgotten the chief baddy, the evil mastermind … in fact, in my case, got it wrong … I should have known but ignored the signs. Well worth a listen:
… and you’ll notice it’s under the last one run here. That seems the best way.

a) French Greens split over rallying behind Mélenchon [Far Left] for presidency. Calls to drop the party’s own candidate and back the left-wing veteran are growing louder, though its 2022 standard-bearer Yannick Jadot has defected to rival Raphaël Glucksmann [Socialist].
b) ‘They did not speak French’ – French teen Constant finally speaks out after being kidnapped, robbed, and beaten into a 6-day coma. Constant obtained an apprenticeship, headed to work at 5 a.m., and played by the rules. The French government failed to protect him, and authorities have only arrested one suspect while the other two remain on the loose, possibly ready to strike again.
c) Women vote Left, Men vote Right: the growing Gender Divide. Nearly half of German women now refuse to date men who support conservative parties, reflecting a growing political divide between young men and women reshaping relationships across the West.
d) Labour’s Asylum Hotel Closures Hide Terrifying Reality. Britain is housing over 93,000 illegal migrants in taxpayer-funded accommodation, with 78 percent now in non-hotel settings including army barracks despite government pledges to end asylum hotels.
e) DAD has a warning and meme with some very unpleasant mugshots.

Plus your writings in comments and at NOWP.
