JH: I saw this:
Double-edged film:
“This could’ve been an excellent “ghost story”; however, Arthur Askey’s antics in the first 10 mins. of this film tend to ruin the film. (One wishes that they would’ve been edited out, as they have NOTHING to do with the film!).
Askey (who resembles a cross between Harold Lloyd, Kay Kyser, and Robert Woolsey) might have been funny in his day, but his brand of humor is ofttimes DISMAL by today’s standards. On the bright side, it improves when they get to the train station. (His antics with an imaginary “dead body” are humorous at times).
However, the real “meat & potatoes” of this film is the haunted train station, and the legend of the “ghost train” that comes thru on dark nights! One wishes this part of the film would’ve been much longer.
The “ghost element” makes up for Askey, so see this film if u get a chance!”
(1337) Afternoon all. Not bad outside here just now. (1346)

This JK Rowling v Emma Watson thing
It’s far more than a girl-on-girl fight, it is actually the whole westwide issue in 2025. EW is certain that there are no consequences being on the wrong, deluded side of history … actually, there ARE consequences, as EW will find out.
(1100) Elevenses and only just onto the second polit-post! Yikes! Had some preparation and house issues … sorted. (1111)

… which is a major theme today at Unherdables.
In this case, JHB has all sorts of red flags due to her broadcasted stances on issues where most pundits went a different way. Another was that one calling herself That Alex Woman and Paula London is another. I suspect Jess Gill of WSI is one to watch out for too, plus Sammy Woodhouse.
Why? Is it the green-eyed monster? Do I wish to have that adoration from the masses, the ratings, like Nige or Dan Wooton or anyone quoting their stats, and going on about their “followers”? I would say that that’s a huge red flag, any one of those. Jess Gill, being inexperienced, plus Sammy Woodhouse, are acting like “starlets” afa I can see … I’m remembering yesterday’s resignation by Morgan.
Having said all that, best at least play this:
Of those three in the thumbnail, the one I’d trust most at first watching is the unsung lady lower corner.

a) Why do do many European Leaders now seem proud to side with Hamas?
b) In the first five months of 2025 alone, 322 anti-Christian acts were recorded in France, a 13% increase compared to the same period a year earlier.
c) On October 30, 2025, Finnish parliamentarian Päivi Räsänen will appear before the Supreme Court in Finland. Her alleged crime? Quoting the Bible….
d) France. In 2024, the National Council of the Order of Physicians recorded 1,992 reports of violence against a practicing physician, compared to 1,581 in 2023…..
(1615) Afternoon all, too many plates spinning here. Re-laid the main room floor, having spring-cleaned and thrown out much of what I needed to … cream-crackered. At the same time, I’m following a trail, soon to be posted at UHC-WP, and am still not sure of the conclusion … more soon. No film, straight to final post here I’m afraid.

14. Behind bars please, the lot of them
13. Unclear about measurable success
There are issues arising from these groups and it’s a little like seeing a youtube about Chrissy Hynde saying Billy Idol sold punk out. We had one such thing some weeks back, where one or two rape victim girls really laid into Samantha Woodhouse, I made some placatory remark and was turned on myself, so said what needed to be.
I’m thinking what it comes down to is that various young ladies are actually after different end results. While those angry and pursuing the cause being taken up … they’re the most vehemently anti-invaders, so you can see them quickly … others seem to have formed a social club, which is fine in itself but you can’t really ask the public for money for jollies in convivial places … pubs, cafes.
I myself am going to back off a little from the WSI and instead support the girls on X who still have the bit between the teeth for justice, which includes ridding this land of massed rapists and knifers.

11. Michaelmas Quarterday Today
In British and Irish tradition, the quarter days are the four dates in each year on which servants were hired, school terms started, and rents were due. They fell on four religious festivals roughly three months apart and close to the two solstices and two equinoxes.
The significance of quarter days is now limited, although rents for properties in England are often still due on the old English quarter days. The quarter days have been observed at least since the Middle Ages, and they ensured that debts and unresolved lawsuits were not allowed to linger on.
