(1701) Only just back in harness, day’s blogging starts. Highly productive on a few fronts today. Much work by my mate up the road for much of the day, inc. revitalised laptop.

As US ports are closed folks might want to think about ordering pdq any goods made over there whilst there is still a possibility of getting them. Not suggesting hoarding or buying more than you need but if it is an essential then give that some thought.

16. We’re banging on a bit about North Carolina

… but there’s something very, very wrong going on, like Maui, like Ohio. First, a word from Toodles about the area:

I have not heard back from my friend yet. I hope she is managing. The thing about up there James, is there are hills and valleys and mountains and lots of streams and waterways. I am just sick about the little towns and outlying homes and trailers along the way…many tucked back. What has become of them?  The land has been so carved up.

The wind is powerful  but the water …well I don’t have to tell you . You have seen the destruction. Also up that way the cold will be setting in soon. I do not want to neglect all the other states  and their problems too. Many of the people up there love to be in nature and left alone. Asheville area has become a hippy dippy culture but there are still solid people up that way.

As a layman I did not understand the full extent of Parliament’s might until I heard Sir Bill Cash on Monday. He explained that unlike Germany and the Netherlands, our Constitution does not acknowledge the supremacy of international law. If we wish to override it all we have to do is pass an Act that says so in terms; a key phrase is ‘notwithstanding [name of law, convention, treaty].’

Sir Bill said that the Supreme Court has already upheld this approach in case law. If the wording is sufficiently clear and explicit then no judge can oppose it.

JH: It’s pretty clear about these crims then, innit?

Wars and rumours of wars usually tend to send precious metals prices upwards. At the beginning of the year Cliff High predicted gold at $2500 by the end of this year, it’s been there for a couple of weeks. It has now broken through the £2000 barrier.

Two things to this … first why are they all coming out? Answer … no or low repercussions. Second is avoiding jail … to flush them all out? Or actually satanic decision makers?

“By the way, in the event of a major war between Iran and Israel, with strikes on each other’s oil facilities and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, oil prices will seriously skyrocket and the Russian Federation will earn billions or even tens of billions of dollars.

This is one of the motivations of the United States to try to keep the situation within the framework of a local conflict.”

    The anti-Israel view via Badlands

Our Take: It’s finally happened. The IDF went into Lebanon for the first time since the Lebanese War in 2006. I’m sure this will be ‘limited’ in the same way it took two weeks to stop the spread. The official narrative out of Tel Aviv is that Netanyahu wants to establish an 18 mile buffer zone north of Israel, similar to the DMZ between North and South Korea. The problem is that the entire world now knows that means the Israeli Settler Movement will immediately begin constructing new settlements the moment that the land is vacant.

Right, so they very much don’t want us congregating … as Liz says … who discusses matter of deep moment at home? Plus increasingly, the brainwashed young and normie olds are not only not going to generally agree but on matters they do, it will be Woke-accepted. Plus kids are increasingly in bedrooms or out, even at night, esp. with broken homes, i.e. violent male if any male, plus loony lefty woman.

The whole purpose is to prevent counter-ideas, prevent discourse … hence the rainbowing of or burning of churches or in subhuman countries … killing Christians, raping women and girls.

And it’s in every single damned western nation … no exceptions. So the whole pubs thingy, plus Starmer’s superinjunction … are about that. Now, let’s look at a situation where we are all little boxes bound … how are we communicating? Phone, pad, laptop. Control those and it’s game, set and match.

The last time a western country of over 25m ran a national referendum, excluding GEs, was Australia, where the communist govt tried to put The Voice as the topic. The official line was that the aborigines needed a special “Voice” in parlmt to “advise” govt on aboriginal-acceptable policy … in other words, stealing from Australians and giving it all, free to minorities, under govt control of course.

What the govt had not counted on was that aboriginals themselves were not for it on the whole, arguing that they already had the rights granted in the 1969 referendum. The Labor govt was apoplectic, the referendum was roundly defeated. In that case, the minority was largely wishing to integrate anyway … not as in Britain and America, where it wants to take over the country and run it in its own image. France too.

The danger is in the question form, also the practices used … reputable or BBC/C4 like? Nothing new:

Not too keen to meddle with the page code as it’s ignored my tweaks so far … as long as you can see the text, well ok. I’m ok, using thumb and finger page enlarge … did use the Ctrl and scrollwheel on the laptop … one notch only needed … works well, no need to reset within the guts.

As for the other issue … comments in sidebar … trying to apply the AKH method of a few responses in the one reply but it does not always suit here, not enough regular response for that … so still trying to find the best way … no big issue. Not as critical here as at NOWP and UHC.

Quotes: colour green always more difficult than italics with this WP setup, occasionally use the former … there’s a very complex blockquote thing which wrecks the page so can’t be used.

Update 2051: I’m possibly not conveying the true extent of this thing:

Former Navy SEAL: “The devastation around here is hard to describe. All of the towns between where we live in Asheville are gone. Our neighbor down on the river lost his house. We just got power back last night, but we have no water. I have to go into town to make phone calls. We don’t have Internet. We are certainly much more fortunate than others. Several hundred people are apparently still missing and they are starting to find dead bodies in cars and in trees.”

Apparently it’s a Demrat area … therefore hopeless … shocking services.

    …….

Earlier: Worse than thought … I’m thinking that Toodles and those around her area know the drill better as it often approaches but these people in NC have not had virtually tsunamis … it had been downgraded to tropical storm. Fed govt and major agencies useless:

Breaking News: All of the shelters in Asheville are at capacity. Fox News Reporters on the ground in Asheville say that FEMA isn’t on the ground helping the shelters and several have run out of water. The Fox Reporter is trying to find answers on why FEMA isn’t there to assist. (Nor the Red Cross.)

Thinking about here where I live … being on a hill, water would run off, maybe some of the foundations would be soggy but far more here, it’s the wind … gales from two sides have hit my abode in particular a few times in the past … the place actually rocks on its foundations.

    Toodles and Asheville friend

    From my friend…Asheville, NC:

Hey Toods. Yes we are o.k. It flooded badly here. Did not come in house. We lost Internet, phone, everything. Hope this goes through. Thank you for your concern. The creek in our backyard came way over banks….river in yard. The young people in our neighborhood are trying to reestablish banks. But we were lucky for it not to come in house. Will keep you posted.

    Me:

Slashed truck tires up that way weeks before storm. Now the same since the store and supplies cannot get to those who need it. What does that sound like to you? Who do you think is slashing tires ? The storm….who caused it to become so large? How are these people going to manage … and then …. I hate to say this…vote?

There was one clip where a man and family were on top of their NC roof, just before the roof fell through … he, child, grandmother fell to their deaths … last count I saw was up around 60. One of the helpers was saying it was not the wind, it was the water surge and even after it had settled, still at roof level. Food, sanitation, obviously power.

Many surrounding state folk volunteering, saying forget FEMA, just get there. Yes, they have such things in the SE but it never gets better. Toodles’s daughter’s house … tree fell, branch straight through roof into living room. They have boats where Toodles is.
