Sunday. All quiet on the Western [French] Front this morning – the family still asleep.
a) One little-known part of the history of the French Revolution is the uprising of the people of the of the Vendee [the coastal region between Nantes and La Rochelle] in support of their minor aristocracy and their Priests.
b) Britain’s food security at risk as one in eight dairy farmers plans to quit. It is the same here in France.
c) Another warning about a Civil War. Retired British Army Colonel Richard Kemp has said the primary risk the UK faces is from an alliance “of the hard left and Islamist extremists”

Hearts of Oak: Steve Gruber – Exposing the Russia Fairy Tale, Schiff’s Leaks, and America’s Crime Crisis | https://rumble.com/v6xl0nu-steve-gruber-exposing-the-russia-fairy-tale-schiffs-leaks-and-americas-crim.html?

War Room:
Phew … time got away again … last Maigret I have for now, more below the show:
One of the synopses says:
“Maigret is visited by Ernestine, the wife of a burglar known as ‘Sad Freddie’. Whilst breaking into a house he discovered a body and is so alarmed he has fled the country. The trail leads Maigret to a dentist who lives with his domineering elderly mother. His wife has gone missing but Maigret needs to find a body if he is to provide a link.”
Right, apart from the domineering mother of the dentist, the key character is Ernestine and again … each series has different strengths … in the Davies, it is Andree Melly … in the Gambon, it is Sandy Ratcliff. The latter is more believable, age wise and in acting ability … the former truly crazy, even in real life, plus roles taken on … so that wildness does suit her part here. I like both but Ms Melly is quite some gal all the same, as in Maigret and the Maid.
As usual, it is Davies playing off the woman, the repartee … well it’s a great strength of the Maigret tales.
In a slight bind here over today’s films and episodes … still have the last Maigret to go from the current batch and it’s interesting how the burglar’s wife is portrayed in the Davies and Gambon series … that’s for later, Ron.
The interesting and frustrating thing about running From Russia With Love (topical, wot?) is that, in it only being available as a reaction video … if you get a good one, you get much of the plot and if she/he does not interrupt all that much … it’s quite bearable.
Now, sorry to be misandrist here but unless the guy is knowledgeable, a good reviewer … I just watched a guy reviewing a CCR number and he was right to the point … so unless the guy is good at it … weeellll, how can I put this?
Well let me put it this way … the way they do these reactions, usually, is to sit to one side and that’s where the issues start … too often they then have this tiny screen size they’re watching, they dwarf it … now that’s all right if a gorgeous gal … but if it’s a huge, hairy beast … for half an hour straight? Er, greatest respect for our boys here at unherdables but there are limits.
YouTube obviously offer compose options and one of those is to put the reacter into an oval frame … idea of the reacter is not to dominate … but it does just that … the hard edged oval covers anything below it, opaquely, not translucently (also an option) and when she/he talks, even for a second, the oval jumps across to the middle, right across any action going on … it’s unwatchable.
All right, so let’s say we’ve looked through five or six reviews of FRWL and are down to three … one is a guy who’s not bad, two are girls. One girl has two strikes against … firstly she uses a tiny screen and secondly, her voice … her voice … (cough) … high pitched, chortling … er no, not for thirty minutes, ok?
So the one I chose … she’s not bad on the eyes, the action is big enough screen, there’s no harsh clashing in the mix. Good. However, it’s her herself … she has that young, sharp harshness that’s around today, it’s like a popcorn munching daughter watching … so … forgeddit?
Well nooo, not really … it took some work preparing this … just hope you can put up with her … coz it’s the only way today we’re going to see FRWL … she’s not a bad kid:

As mentioned a few times, this early morn time is when the antipodaeans are awakening, plus the North Americans are in their last pre-bed phase, plus we are arising … Julia and I within twenty minutes of each other earlier, DAD ten minutes before me at publication. A nice time of day to sit with the coffee, staring out of the window, ipad in other hand.
Alex is getting better and better … not sure she’s aware of her danger, girls often aren’t … not sure what to advise, not that my advice would becwanted.

(0514) Classic case of both out-thinking the other. I awoke, thinking best get another post up at NOWP for DAD, just in case, plus Steve I knew was there. But DAD beat me to it. Without labouring this for readers, plural … this sort of “getting the despatches through” is awesome … much appreciated indeed. (0558)
2. The Alaskan news I have, as of 0544
1. DAD at 1131
DAD – I crept downstairs at 05h, leaving the family asleep, to bring you News from France and Europe.
a) Living in the larger towns in France is becoming dangerous.
a1) “Kill him. Kill him” were the cries from the group as they ran down the street chasing a young man- so they did.
a2) A 20-year-old man was seriously injured after receiving eight stab wounds in downtown Montpellier, in the Hérault department, on the night of Wednesday, August 13 to Thursday, August 14.
a3) A man of “Afghan origin” hit another man of “African origin” with a piece of wood last night after a dispute in the Dormoy area of Paris’s 18th arrondissement.
b) In Sweeden, too. One person was killed and another injured Friday in a shooting near a mosque in the southern Swedish city of Örebro. [The police believe that it was an inter-gang event.]
c) Even in France the Ricky Jones verdict is questioned. A Labour councillor who called for the throats of far-right activists to be slit at an anti-racism rally has been found not guilt.
(1511) Afternoon all. Better to run this as the final of the day … various RL commitments, chores … shall post when I can through to evening.

Why is everything in the U.K. inverted right now?
Examples:
1 – repeatedly and relentlessly going after those that do whilst other countries reward hard work
2- Veterans kicked out into streets and young males who have broken borders housed and fed instead
3- Councillor shouting to violently attack a certain group of people with knives to a huge agitated crowd using a microphone not found guilty , but a distressed emotional lone mum lashes out online in desperation to babies being brutally murdered and deleted it quickly. Guilty and jailed.
4- Some woke privileged affluent people in Cotswolds cheering a pub refusing to serve the much loved and charming VP of America who loves the uk , whilst ignoring the huge number of violent crimes committed by illegal migrants and cheering for their rights on a daily basis
5- Birmingham council ripping down U.K. flags before VJ Day but replacing with Pakistan and India flags
Etc etc example after example.
Why is everything at the moment against decent Brits and in general , the mentality and people who built Britain and the people who want the best for Britain but seemingly often pro those who hate Britain and act in ways that harm Britain
Where policies that damage and weaken Britain are protected and promoted whilst things that would help are scorned
When did we become one of the only countries in the world who hates itself How did such a once proud and upstanding patriotic intelligent leading nation as the U.K. arrive in such a Topsy turvy self flagellating almost suicidal position.
And how can we rectify this deranged mentality and get back to being a cohesive country that’s proud and stands up for what’s right and the things that benefit Britain ?

Housekeeping – back from the border lands. Great few days, perfect weather. The dogs were amazing, though highly trained for the gun they knew with me it was definitely recreational. Out we went, three times a day, playing hide and seek with tiny pieces of chicken and a strange game of football, or rather muzzle ball, with four mad for it working cockers and a low net. The sprain was nasty, moderate to severe he was told.
By the time I was due to leave and with his wife returned he showed us his heavily discoloured foot. I know the drill: rest, ice, compression and elevation (R.I.C.E) – which I became familiar with after walking over moon grass with a massive rucksack on my back. Occupational hazard in the forces.
Anyway, normal service will resume tomorrow 🙂 For the time being though these two are worth a read, the first one about a town not 5 miles from where I live:
