10. English names – quite a few survived. Of particular note is Edmund (OE Eadmund) as in Edmund the Martyr, the original patron saint of England.

I see no reason why he shouldn’t. He was an Englishman, a king and a saint. What more could you want? Englishmen were still carrying his banner into battle 500 years after his death.
