15. And Andy brings up the fifteenth

American Thinker, a sometimes annoying site which does have interesting essays now and then gives us this | https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2025/07/perpetual_russian_wars.html | The article contradicts much of what I thought to be true, I honestly don’t know whether to dismiss it or start rethinking.

14. It’s been a dislocated day so far

By an unfortunate conjunction of circumstances, I lost quite a few files and they included old photos, those I valued … dozens of them. Thing was … they were stored on usb stick, the laptop OS was changed, the new OS will not recognise two of the sticks. The third it does recognise.

No matter because I still have the old laptops and can gather the bits and pieces to open them, maybe. Plus I have actual photos in a packet. Still, a weird feeling to see Sammy’s post item below, then start seeing things disappear myself.

13. See the OoL VPN post too

12. No one wants to know

… and this is tragic. Quite understandable the perps not wishing to know but too many others, normies, seem oblivious.

11. Over at OoL

  1. Following on from yesterday’s ONS report on the population explosion being forced on us from the outside; today it’s baby names, and which are the most popular (England and Wales). Unsurprisingly the name of a certain long dead paedophile from the Middle East tops the list for a second year in a row. However when the more than thirty spellings of the name are taken into account it’s been top for well over a decade. Such is the penetration into our homeland of those who follow this 7th Century warmonger it could easily remain the top name for decades to come – or possibly forever. An update on the UK’s water taxi service for yesterday is just under 900 illegals, which brings this year’s taxpayer funded total to 25,400. Don’t vote for people that hate you. That is all.

    ……

JH: Yes … we just have to hang in there and see what pressure can be brought.

  2. 15. And Andy brings up the fifteenth – the author didn’t mention the Soviet-Afghan war (1979-89) – which they lost, badly. The Soviet Union collapsed shortly after and thus ended the Warsaw Pact, etc. The article assumes the past will become the future and on that I disagree. Putin was slow to react to the suffering of his fellow ethnic Russians in the Donbass: took the deaths of almost 14,000 before he launched the SMO (Special Military Operation). Could be the Russian military was in no fit state in 2014 to take on an AFU that was being built, and supplied, by NATO.

You can’t deny the determination seen within its military: to defeat an invader who is superior in both size and strength. Ukrainians kick ass. However war is pointless now as they’ve literally run out of soldiers, and much else. What’s interesting is the way Russia fought this war, the tempo especially. Drone warfare came into its own; the men who operate them, are not the soldiers of old. War is different now and the Russians have adapted; are adapting, daily. That’s my view anyway. A potential new enemy that is more dangerous:

  3. 1) All FS formats can be read by modern laptops. Are you sure that it is not a Backup App that is causing the issue?

    2) That Russian info has been available for a long time and many have talked about it but it was ignored. Russia has been screwed over by the West since the collapse of the USSR because our elites need a bad guy to pay our arms industry trillions.

    3) Like many treated poorly they learned to live with it and it toughened them up. Russia is the rough poor boy at school bullied by the posh bullies. When it comes down to a fight who is your money on, a tough street urchin or a woke college boy?

    ……

JH: All good, n1 I’m sure you’re right, just not that fussed overall. I know they’re still on the old laptop, just a question of getting around to doing it.
