Why not front page right here and now? Well, it’s quite personal … plus long … plus I’ve just finished telling Redacted about the UHC layout on such items. A lady should have a certain amount of privacy anyway, as should a gentleman.
In fact, it extends to everyone, including me … I might have some personal longs soon enough … UHC-WP is definitely the place for those … same commenting issues as here methinks … tell me if that’s not so.
Let me explain in some more detail about this arrangement of sites within the complex, the tavern grounds. As non blogging readers, should you wish to save a tale at some length, what are your options, short of starting up your own blog?
With a blog, you either go free platform, e.g. ggl blgr, in which case they have control of content and you saw what happened last July 26th with N.O. Or you could go hosted or self-hosted, in which case, it’s expensive, plus that provider still has a certain amount of control, even then, e.g. Ghost, certainly substack.
Or you can go UHC-HQ type, which requires building infrastructure … not many can do that. But remember, firstly, that any site at all can be hacked, destroyed by DDOS, or by insidious means, backdoors etc.
What UHC-WP offers is a limited sized site with no particularly rabid posts on it with key data TPTB would be interested in. Why not NOWP? Because it is linked to a complex, it’s ancient, there are dertain agreements over there. Why not HQ? Prime candidate for being hit and losing all, as N.O. was. Jstack? There’s something iffy about it … still exploring this issue.
UHC-WP is not a lot of use for your novel or short story … it’s more for one or two A4 length tales you’ve picked up along the way. Either in comments, or I’ll pist your text there under your moniker, listed in the sidebar under Toodles and Redacted.
Will UHC-WP be used for other content? Not a lot, as it has 1 GB total space allocation. Anyway, these sre just thoughts on a Saturday morning at this stage.
