Monday [6 to 10]

(0646) As it’s too early (usually around 0800) for the first mini feature, let’s have another five of politics. (0726)

10. As it says

9. Just this, nothing more as yet

8. There’s a lesson in here but neither Newscum

… nor the (e)toopid voters of CA seem able to see it … or just don’t wish to:

7. Good, it’s starting to unravel for the ecoloons

6. Toodles, Redacted and the unsung patrons

Toodles herself is too modest to say but she plays quite a role at Unherdables, she nourishes obscurity one could say … she’s a personal friend, she proofreads everything after the event and spots anomalies, she suggests and notes … she has a sense of the wholeness of our conglomeration … plus I know she is valued by most of our patrons here.

This, plus Redacted’s kind comments about me are here:

… and that post is looking better and better imho. For a start, it preserves more safely … HQ is more lively, more frenetic, news item summary after news item summary after news item summary … yes … but remember that warning in May about HQ easily going down suddenly?

I know it seems a cheek on my part to move Toodles’s and Redacted’s longs to L001 at UHCWP but you see, I wished to up their chances of preservation, given those lost comments at HQ.

But what of shorts and mediums, e.g. Andy’s I’ve just transferred? Steve has some I’d like to too, e.g. on military issues, Dorset etc. Well, there’s a place for those at Reader recollections:

It just feels safer there at UHCWP plus NOWP. Not knocking HQ but it’s a rollercoaster ride, plus it’s not the place for long dissertations and diatribes.

Where are IYE, Microdave, Torquaymada, Woodsy 42, Isilme? Around and about. IYE’s archive is buried in our navbar above.

  1. “Smell Checkers” – Do I get any “old age” brownie points for spotting that? I recall finding a decades old local newspaper in the loft, and apart from seeing long-dead company names, the one thing that struck me was the total lack of speling erors, and bad puncturation. Which was entirely due to type setters sitting in front of real machines, not a bunch of school leavers with their phones…

    ……

    • Microwave, top marks for the spot, I was tempted to miss out the r in proof readers but thought that was going too fart.😉
