19. Moosh corner
I DMed Moosh about the “off of”, then added, talking about you lot: “Oh and they adore your Lady P pic. Not so much my Biggles pic, sexist bstds. ☺️” The lady just laughed at that … cruelty to a dumb animal it was.

17. One of the rapees

That was my Mum’s favourite, IYE. As a child the miners coming off a 12-hour shift would sing it very softly as they walked home through the village at night – including her father (my grandad). The strength of those mining communities was something to behold. Men at their best, women too. I’d like to know the origin of all these memes, the one that gave birth to it all. Thanks anyway. Oh, and her village was one up from Treorchy.
My Great-Gran worked at a mine washing coal. Her husband died leaving her with five children, the youngest being my beloved Granfather. Pre 1914 war. No social welfare to speak of so it was off to the mines in Leigh, Lancs. My Grandfather had two elder brothers who were twins. They were both injured in the Great War. One was gassed and died a couple of years later. The other one had his legs blown off. He had a wooden leg as a result and considered it a trophy for his service to his country.

JH: Amelia a second time … thank you, IYE.
My advise is leave it obscure. Reminds me too much of the current aristocracy including KC
