  1. 5. Good, now we can get on with more important things – Talking of military, those who follow my posts (NOWP) on the situation in The Ukraine will have noticed there’s hundreds of video shorts on the drone warfare taking place there. The technology is constantly evolving and we are now at the point where drones are targeting individual soldiers – and by that I mean being flown straight at them, and exploding. Drones are a deadly problem for both sides in the conflict – though Russia does seem to have the upper hand. You can see one method they use to combat AFU drones in this series of clips:

The Americans have not let the grass grow under their feet and understand the imperatives sought by war with the development of new drone countermeasures. The US XVIII Airborne Corps has announced a close-in weapons system (CIWS) using ‘frangible munitions’ that will defeat all drone types – and they did it in record time by adapting a system fitted to US warships, colloquially known as a ‘sea whizz’ gun it will now be seen on the battlefield. A slogan used by the US Marine Corps is ‘adapt and overcome’ and this time the army did it spades. No doubt something like this but smaller:
