Heartbeat
The X account @visitnorthyork is fairly self explanatory as to its purpose. He asked a question … could you name any film or TV series from North Yorks?
I replied but was not expecting this:

I remember a detective series called Clough, he being a gruff no nonsense Yorkshireman. Not sure where in Yorkshire it was set. His sidekick was a border collie called Shep. His (Clough, not the dog) was Aye ‘appen, he uttered those words many times per episode.
I still live in N Yorkshire! I love it (don’t tell them I’m actually a Lancashire lass).
Wasn’t “All Creatures Great and Small” set in Yorkshire? And filmed there?
……
JH: God apparently likes it there too, as His own.
I should add that my wife visited the Redcar area a couple of years ago. The shop assistants, hotel staff, and garage mechanics impressed her with their competence and friendliness.

Right, wiki tells me it’s actually Cluff set in the Yorkshire Dales.
I believe “The Hardacres” was set in North Yorkshire.
I have lived in N Yorkshire. I can tell you it’s not too bad at all: finest pork pies, jolly good ice cream, wunnerful fish and chips in Whitby.

Do I detect a smidgen of smugness here? Hertfordshire born and bred but with a good Yorkshire name, a seaside town with a grand hotel.
Aye, but in the Dales.
