Re #8 – The folk on Twitter/X aren’t having any truck with the “Hero” title, and neither am I, having watched the clip earlier. Notice how easily the gunman was disarmed? He didn’t put up much of a fight, and then calmly walked away while the gun was pointed at him.

There was an update on the hero, they now allege that he took two shots. There didn’t seem to be any evidence of that in the short clip we saw.
If I were the hero I’d instinctively not shoot the gunman because of the high likelihood that I’d be charged with murdering him. That’s assuming that the police, prosecutors, and courts are as barmy in NSW as they are in the UK (and parts of the US?).
I did once disarm a mugger who had tried to stick his knife in my heart and I did refrain from disembowelling him for just that reason. You can’t trust The Law to behave with any sympathy just because you are an honest citizen.
