(1623) Well well well, almost good evening, good reader … I disintegrated a bit earlier but was taken back to the ship we call Bed and revitalised to 25% capacity. Greetings, earthlings.
13. Have read today’s comments
… and good they were too … this second, I see Steve’s dropped something at 1181 but am not up to speed yet, still on one cylinder … hope he enjoyed the movie. Back to bed, to further recharge, please read drops in situ for now.
At 1859, just wishing you a good night, today a bit of a washout. Saw Torquaymada’s.
12. Wonder what it could possibly be

11. Rachel Maclean writes
… Rachel being the Tory version of Jess Phillips apparently:
“Some of us have known Jess Phillips for a very long time from Birmingham. We have seen her pretend to care about people when it is really all about her. We have been gaslit over and over again, being told by everyone including the Prime Minister that she has more experience with victims than anyone else.
As though this monopoly of virtue makes her more important than vulnerable and brave women who have stepped forward. I did the job that Jess is doing now. I don’t pretend to have all the answers and I wish we had done more. If I had known then what I know now, I would have. But we didn’t. That is what cover ups are. I am deeply sorry that we did not do enough for those victims.
You can criticise the last government all you like – and you would be right to, for many reasons. But. Before you start angrily keyboard warrioring – ask yourself. Does having a go at me and the last government really make it OK for Jess Phillips to behave as she does? Does that make it OK for Keir Starmer to elevate her victim status (“poor, but amazing Jess”) above all those women who have suffered so much? And does it make it OK for Jess to cling to her job?
Do you not think, for even one second, that Phillips ought to have the moral compass to resign? Because how is this going to play out now? Those women are not going to take part in the enquiry. Labour can pat themselves on the back and say how wonderful Phillips is. What about those women? Branded liars by a government minister, after being systematically raped and abused for years, while Jess’s friends running those Labour councils covered it up because they were too afraid to inflame “community” tensions.
Who will get justice for them? Not Phillips. Not Starmer.

Starmer has just pledged an ‘additional £10 million in security funding to protect Muslim communities from hate crimes and attacks’ – didn’t say how much he was willing to spend on protecting little English girls though. We can be sure it’ll be nothing because they can barely bring themselves to admit that there’s anything wrong. That’s where we are and that’s where we’ll always be with self-haters in charge. Do not vote for people that hate you.
