Sunday [11 till close of play]

(1604) Nearing evening. Mince pie time.

19. This could only be acceptable coming from a girl

18. This is precisely what we online pundits should be doing

… this is our responsibility. Please can a big name get DJT to see the story, he would back her, even visit the bakery.

Please, if you can access X, click on the text at the top to get to comments and look at them. The lady’s obviously not set up for all this … she’s a baker, not a web surfer … so many people want her wares.

Then we get to the other issue … the utter beech who was doing this … she needs to be ruined in this activity.

After that, this stoopid word “influencer” itself needs trashing.

There are ways to get product out … I’m thinking of Dean’s shortbreads in Scotland … I’ve bought from them … good delivery service too. Something like that … one of her online-savvy girls perhaps?

17. Andy

The downward curve, or descent, of the CofE started back in the 1979s. The modern translations of the New Testament, the new kumbaya type of songs, guitars and tambourines replacing massive pipe organs. All of that was enough for me. The Church is unrecognisable now.

I’m not being entirely honest, I was a late teenager then and wanted space to do teenager things. Not to be overdramatic, when seeing the devil’s works I eventually found my faith again.

16. Taxpayer funded terrorists

15. Were I not already non-denominational Christian

… that is “biblical Christian” instead … this item would put me off religion:

14. I visit three people on Gab … this is one of em

13. We’ve been continually warned

12. I’m calling it mass murder by the Wokerati and globopsycho crims

11. Guess who’s back at 1171?

  1. 11. Guess who’s back at 1171? – that be me. Last week when I said ‘tribe’ it was the meaning of old, kith not kin, so fellow countrymen and women. Four days under canvas: army surplus 12x12ft plus a wood burner and hot plate for making a brew. We had three of those, set up in woodland owned by the host. Doesn’t get much better 🙂

    ……

    JH: Utter bliss.

    • Bliss indeed. About 12 acres of mature ash and oak trees, with a perimeter fence as it’s a protected area though privately owned. Weather was good too, no rain so we were outside most of the time. We left nothing behind except some flattened leaves. The first evening the boss brought out an easel and put a 40″ flat panel monitor on it. Using one of those lithium power stations he fired it up and showed us some drone footage of the Unite the Kingdom demo that I’d not seen. Massive it was and I was there 🙂 Beers all round we then watched John Boorman’s Hope and Glory from 1987. Good start to the week with plenty more to come.

  2. 15. Two things. Firstly “aces and eights”. See MM’s various notes on that.
Secondly, a personal anecdote. My Grandfather was CoE and my Grandmother was RC. When they married in the early 1930s both of them were shunned by their respective churches for daring to fall in love with someone outside “ the faith”. This despite my Grandfather agreeing to the RC priest’s demands that if they went ahead with their marriage any subsequent progeny be brought up in the Catholic faith. From the day they married neither was allowed to take communion at either church. When my Grandfather passed away 40+ years later a more enlightened vicar did actually perform a very nice funeral service for him but not in the Parish church. It had to be at the crematorium. The Catholic priest who was never backward at coming to their home each week for Gran’s monetary contributions to the church’s coffers during the 40 odd years of shunning, told her only a matter of days after Grandad’s funeral that she was now forgiven because her husband was dead and could now partake in communion again. Needless to say I was appalled by the attitude of both sets of clergy. I challenged my Gran as to why she was going along with such abhorrent treatment (imo) from the priest to which she replied that the priest said it was the rules. That is why I have absolutely no respect for the pointy hatters of any ilk.

    ……

JH: Agreed, though I’m non-denominationally still within “the faith” for obvious reasons to us. Ask Toods.
