… or “you can never go back”.
There was a blogger I had quite a soft spot for:
http://angusdeionallandsundry.blogspot.com/
As he said himself near the end: “The ciggies have done for me.” There was a photo of him in that last post, he said it was the last one. I notice that Tom Paine has done a blog migration … he can explain it:
That’s interesting that everything’s come across from Typepad to WordPress … The Slog went t’other way … Ghost. I also revisited Ross Fountain and at the top of his sidebar, guess what I found?
Now isn’t that interesting … I’m thinking the guy could be either DK or Lord T who appears at Tom’s.
In Warren Zevon’s song Nobody’s in Love this Year, changing one of the lines produces: “the rate of attrition for bloggers like us is steadily on the rise”. Uh huh. I’m sure we can go back if we must … I did some weeks ago … fortuitous that she was just as curious as I was and we’re still in touch. One dear friend I’m still in touch with has been so for the same number of decades, give or take. I think of Chuckles and haiku too, from N.O. days.
Music … hmmm, not so sure that that’s always good to return to … I did play some Radio Birdman, Stranglers … think I’ve aged … great for their time but … we do move on. Worse was that it was depressing, as it reminded of other things, errors made, opportunities passed up, failing to understand the dynamics. No point dwelling … my new ipad air arrived today, works nicely.
Plus I really like what we have here, the humble abode is fine for now but who knows what will be in a month? New neighbours. Happy I think is the man or woman who knows what he has right now, appreciates it, knows it can be lost just like that … not poetically but in real terms.
