(0312) Another of these middle of the night wake ups. Shall write this item 1, try for sleep again, then start posting other items in the pipeline. (0620)

5. The US has a would be, pseudo president

… and his name is Thune … quite above the wishes of the people in his own estimation and that of McConnell.

Each branch is trying to act as if it is the policy decider, not the Executive, not the Legislature. They entich themselves along the way. In the lingterm, it breaks down the constitutional system and something else steps in.

4. First five items at TDS today

Second item is the one intriguing me.

3. Father Ted

Thing is that all the usual international people are weighing in too and the UK is one of the most despised destinations to avoid in 2025.

We saw the footage at the council office steps … she unfurled the flag defiantly and was indeed “manhandled”, wrestled to the concrete floor and cuffed … maybe three plod in her case, no females. 24 hours they held her.

2. (0553) DAD corner at 1147

a) Emmanuel Macron brought together the leaders of the government camp for a crisis lunch on Tuesday, September 2nd. Six days before François Bayrou’s likely fall, the opposition parties continue to confirm their complete break with the Prime Minister.

b) A frightening statistique. A quarter of young French people suffer from mental distress, according to a survey…

c) Knife Jihad in Marseille. ‘Baron Bodissey give a ‘tongue in cheek’ report. The BBC makes it sound like the alleged perpetrator, a man named Abdelkader D., was simply a disgruntled patron who had been evicted…

d) “I thank the military”: in Deux-Sèvres, a wind farm project blocked for fighter pilot training. Elicio has announced the abandonment of a project…

1. Dispiriting

… are the things happening around the west and certain phrases describe it

  • Moving forward with backward steps
  • Bad actors acting in bad faith
  • Walking straight into set traps
  • That which cannot be unseen
  • Indulging in the very thing you’re tut-tutting

An example of the first and third above is from the Alberta Minister of Education … a Greek in a high position in Alberta? Go figure, as they say. Conservative Party.

And my issue with it? Clicking the link brings up a window with a warning about “graphic” content. Scrolling down that page brings up the content itself … precisely what they are attempting to eliminate, yet here they are presenting it to 204.7k people, admittedly on the net, at X, which is a specific group over 13 years of age but including under 18.

So not only is he doing precisely the opposite of what he’s aiming for but he’s putting within easy reach that which cannot be unseen. Now we’ve had that out before and the dilemma is that there are two clashing principles:

  • Indulging in, wallowing in the very thing you’re against, tut-tutting as you do … gross hypocrisy and not on at UHC
  • The undertaking to provide at least some pathway to that which is presented at UHC.

Though I do make it difficult with the screenshot being unembedded, it can still be found on X if you search his name, find the item, click. Why not just show it? Dispiriting, nauseating, I do not wish to, end of. There’s an issue of ongoing mental health here … I have a day of presenting ahead … that filth will impinge badly on the day, which should include light relief along the way.
