9. If you contact them, they will ask for your name, so they have that information on record. If the contractor, currently Capita, actually visits, do not enter into a conversation, or let them into your premises (they have no powers, in themselves, to demand entry). In the 5 years I have not had a tv licence, there have been numerous threats of visits, but so far not one caller. To clarify, I do not watch live streamed television, or record BBC or iPlayer programmes.
SoT, my concern is that some numpty in government will cancel the tv licence, the revenue of which goes solely to the BBC, and bring in a general taxation so that everyone, even those without a tv, pays, less, of course, those on benefits, small boat invaders, criminals serving custodial sentences, and probably, politicians.
