7. Housekeeping – back from the border lands and thank you James for posting that Hearts of Oak episode featuring Bernie Spofforth. Great few days, perfect weather. The dogs were amazing, though highly trained for the gun they knew with me it was definitely recreational. Out we went, three times a day, playing hide and seek with tiny pieces of chicken and a strange game of football, or rather muzzle ball, with four mad for it working cockers and a low net. The sprain was nasty, moderate to severe he was told. By the time I was due to leave and with his wife returned he showed us his heavily discoloured foot. I know the drill: rest, ice, compression and elevation (R.I.C.E) – which I became familiar with after walking over moon grass with a massive rucksack on my back. Occupational hazard in the forces.
