Embarrassment of riches again, though more suited to the winter and/or a dark night. Three films to run … which? One of them, Murder My Sweet, 1944, had Dick Powell as Phillip Marlowe … I had a look through … it was ok but the plot had been altered in key ways.

Had a look at the 1975 version, with Robert Mitchum and in a reversal of the usual pattern, this one seemed better. You can argue but I felt The Manchurian Candidate of 2004 was better than the 1962 with Sinatra. Rarely is the remake like that imho.
