a) Feb 2023. Around 200 people protested the presence of a camp in the woods bordering the town. They drove away the illegally settled families before entering in large numbers and beginning to destroy makeshift shacks themselves.
June 2025. “The role of the court is not to say whether what happened was right or wrong, but to say whether the acts for which the defendants were prosecuted were proven, and that is not the case,” declared the presiding judge in her deliberations.
Dominique Kudla, the independent mayor of Villeron, and five of his constituents were tried this Monday before the Pontoise Criminal Court. They had driven away Roma families and destroyed their shacks in February 2023.
All were acquitted by the court.
b) Dressed in white jumpsuits and with their faces covered, some 150 activists entered the Tournai-based company’s warehouses early in the morning. Their action was part of the “Stop Arming Israel” campaign, through which they demand compliance with the military embargo against Israel and the adoption of sanctions by Belgium against the Jewish state.
The damage is estimated at approximately one million euros. OIP specializes in the maintenance, repair, and modernization of military vehicles.
Unfortunately the armored vehicles that were damaged were for the Ukrainian army.

Interesting how that came through. I saw the blockage … it wanted to expand but it seems the platform allows some to expand, not others. The issue was “c and d” which needed some redacting to get around.
