Most interesting for my age group … someone wrote that his version below would be better known than Otis Redding’s. Otis Redding did a version? Even wrote it?
Wondering why it did not grab Britain … it seemed to grab Oz.
The main thing is he was Dougy Gibbons in RL and feted by the Stones, Jimmy Page and that whole crew … the Marianne Faithfuls etc. … that scene. One writer said he was coffee boy for the Stones … now, given how camp Jagger was, plus the song was produced by Paul Gadd, plus Gibbons was 15 at the time, plus a pretty boy … you get my drift. He was promoted heavily by John Peel, so obviously he was British.

He and the four (not three) never really went anywhere after that. Mysterious.
