4. DAD’s just dropped over at 1047

a) In a display of foreign policy independence, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni chose not to attend the summit held in Kyiv on Saturday *

b) The Tit-for-Tat between France and Algeria continues…..The Algerian authorities demanded, on May 11, the immediate repatriation of 15 French agents recently sent as temporary reinforcements, particularly in the visa sector.

c) Slowly, slowly the wheels are coming off the ‘Green Agenda’. Norwegian energy company, Statkraft, announced it is putting on hold all development of new projects for producing “green hydrogen”.

d) A Dutch couple, Ronny van Unen (72) and Saskia Scheltes (66), were refused Swiss nationality by the municipality of Unteriberg, near Zurich, despite twenty years of residence, a perfect command of German and a clean criminal record.

……

*Significant.

3. An example, with Steve

… as to the strange way the Higham brain operates. The Keith Woods link gave:

Yes indeed. The second link was a rerun of the one I posted yesterday, of the families being that … families, not fighting age thug men. The third link had one of the unmentionables and as I’m having early brek, no way reposting the creep’s pic. That’s the sort of redacting decision on the fly.

Steve has an earlier comment on same as well. Plus he runs Colin Rugg, who writes:

“MSNBC’s Yamiche Alcindor hyperventilates over the White South Africans who were granted refugee status by Trump.”

Ok, now we might differ but I have no desire in reposting this Alcindor creature … point’s been made, ok? Colin himself … different matter of course.

2. Housekeeping

How to use comments to our advantage has sensitivities attached … namely, why are some comments left as comments, some are re-run in posts? Wish I knew myself … to a point, it’s trusted regulars, it’s also links rather than just a short thought on a matter, and not all links are reposted, mainly for cybersecurity but also for other reasons.

I assure you it’s not favouritism, not completely … it’s more a case of does it take us further? Justin’s dad I did not repost, Redacted I’m about to look at those links. Steve is a bit more difficult … he links to X, which is good for Xers like me, gives me sshootable quotes to run … but not much use to non-Xers as a link, so they stay in comments.

There’s no hard and fast rule, other than … does it move us forrader or what, for me to repost? Each and every time. Is it best read in situ in comments? And so on.

1. IYE and the topic of catharsis

Some Cringe lunacy seems apt for a full moon.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCtqh5MZejI

It’s Grifty, not running it expanded for safety reasons but it illustrates something about the way I misuse the word catharsis … broaden it to mean general reluef, relaxation, to have a break from the fray. I for one have a number of such ladies in “lullaby crazy” mode but apparently my voice too can knock people out, though in my case, it’s probably through sheer boredom … bore y’all to sleep.

It’s one of the reasons I’m keen to run Chris Spargo (Twinning for example) and running mini-landscapes in the sidebar. Ruairidh is more for info-hunger. But readers, we do need a break. AKH is another, so is the estimable Churchmouse. Once you realise that that is a fine outlet there on the topics of the day … well, we need those things … here are Dearieme, followed by CM:

The depth of info at CM’s makes it a must read imho. Sackerson and Rolf Norfolk are the same person … he does not comment here as a rule but he does read. He and I go way back in time and adventures.
