Tuesday [12 to 14]

(1315) Afternoon all. There’s a Wimsey radio play (Macheath), an Ellery Queen, another film, but there’s also one of the better Christies … think I’ll run with that next. (1346)

14. Water

13. Empathy and other -pathies

According to Vox Day:

Vox maintains that women can’t feel empathy … I suspect he means with her male of the moment … but motherhood shirley increases her ability to empathise with children and she’s always felt the pain of the bird with a broken wing … just not for her man until many years have passed … and of course if he cares little, is solipsistic himself … well it’s an empathy killer.

By all means tell me I’m kidding myself but I do disagree with Vox and quoted blogger … maybe it’s a mix of the first three on the list that I’ve seen over and over by certain females in my life. Again I might be kidding myself but I do not have a jaundiced view of women who are as good as any we’re likely to encounter.

  1. I recall an English tv programme, about 15 years ago, telling us that the Maldives would be under water in five years unless a massive, i.e. expensive overseas tax payer funded, operation took place to save these beautiful islands. The Maldives government was so concerned about their situation that, instead of building flood prevention techniques, they built an airport, allegedly, with the funds given to stop them sinking. I understand a further airport has been, or is being, built.
If true, I suppose they have to do something with all that international aid.

    ……

JH: Crims, that’s all it is.
