Thursday [11 to 15]

(1038) Threw out some possible films, episodes, radio plays as there were issues with them … largely story arc anomalies, things which would not be like that in RL. Also checked out Katrina of the waves … sigh, I can see why she won in 97, Blair’s big start too … that was not the UK winning, it was the EU/WEF. No wonder.

Today I’ve allocated, à la maison, the job of re-proofing the novella Island (see Other in navbar), plus a certain amount of blogging. A bit light on for films but see how we go. (1101)

They are interested and want to do their bit. The public really are proud of the UK’s progress on climate action – we can’t see any evidence that the public wants us to slow down.”

The whole idea is not so much political writings, although they’ll appear now and then when a reader’s gone to a great deal of trouble. It’s not even reports of how the garden’s looking … it’s more recollections of events in personal pasts.

“The UK’s Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA), established in 2023 with an £800 million purse of taxpayer funds, received a burst of publicity last week when it was unveiled that the agency was planning to “dim the sun” to fight global warming. The agency approved £56.8 million to be spent on “climate cooling” projects which include looking into the logistics of building a ‘sunshade’ in space and injecting plumes of salt water into the sky to reflect sunlight away from Earth.

ARIA is the brainchild of Dominic Cummings, a prominent British political strategist who served as the chief adviser to UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson from 2019 to 2020. Cummings pitched a lean, “audacious” agency to fund high-stakes research in AI, quantum computing and synthetic biology, sidestepping the “timid bureaucracy” of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).

In a research paper published in 2018 on his website, ‘On the ARPA/PARC “Dream Machine”, science funding, high performance and UK national strategy’, Cummings proposed a high-powered publicly-funded British research agency to emulate the US Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and Xerox’s Palo Alto Research Centre (PARC).”

The CPS says with regard to Rupert Lowe: “We have decided that our legal test for a criminal prosecution has not been met.”

I’m not running Rupert’s response until after tomorrow’s by-elections, then full-on you can be sure. This is deliberate … I’m not anti Reform, just anti Zia-Farage. I’d say not many of those voters would be looking here anyway but just best wait till Friday imho.
