As soon as I started to read about K1s a certain image came into my head, exactly the same as the photograph lower down.
Did I ever see one? Or did I see a photograph? I don’t know, but I think that it was the former when I was sent to live on a farm in Somersetshire during three summer school holidays.
15. It’s not a new issue, is it? – No it isn’t. We had a settled society; a strong society, that in 1940 beat-off the greatest war machine the world had ever seen. Our People did that and we did it alone. When existential threats came our way we stood back-to-back and saw them off. Not according to our political class do we draw strength from being a highly cohered society, thus we are where we are because they determined it so. They got what they wanted.
