11. It was the Sig, says Steve

It was the sig going off that spooked the ICE men.

He was carrying a loaded P320 SIG Sauer semi-automatic pistol with two extra magazines. Unlike the P225, which is considered safe to use for concealed carry, the P320 is prone to malfunction. When the Border Agent grabbed the firearm he was carrying it discharged a bullet. The weapon was therefore not in a safe condition; had a round in the chamber, safety off and ready to fire..

  1. I have never used a pistol but did use to shoot with a rifle. Having your gun with the “safety” off and a round ‘up the spout’, as we used to say, means either that you are a moron or that you plan to fire immediately.

Separate point: in my shooting days I never heard that favourite American term “locked and loaded”. I tried a google to find its exact meaning and inferred that it apparently has never actually had an exact meaning. It seems to be of Hollywood origin. God spare us from people pretending to be manly by imitating Hollywood.

Come to think of it, I wonder whether that is a separate point.
