  1. A walk about in St. Albans

    ……

JH: Been there a few times, mainly Radlett … and South Mimms is an old friend. I usually don’t let on I was heading for Luton each time.

Readers, I need that you would latch onto where this is in our range of sites, that you see the pattern starting to form.

    • I am currently staying in digs as my house has been cleared for a rewire and new kitchen. For the next four to five weeks I will be walking around St. Albans. If this cold weather worsens you may see an old man sitting on a bus going around and around the town. Having lived here all my life there isn’t much that I haven’t seen already.

House clearing is a stressful business, the last month has brought me to my wits end at times. I now have over thirty rubbish bags full of unwanted clutter. Veolia have our council waste collection contract, I believe that I must be one of their best customers.

      ……

      JH: Stressful for sure, Andy.

      • I believe that I must be one of their best customers.
        🤭🤭😆!

        Understand!
Have fun on the bus! Keep us posted on your excursions 😉.

    • When I was a Scour (3rd Barnet – St John’s) we used to go to St Albans for a yearly ‘Meet-up’ with other Scouts of the region and Church Parade at the Abbey.

When I was At Hatfield Poly we went, from time to time, to STORBINS (as we pronounced it) in the evening.

      • My father was a scout and wanted me to join, mum overruled him so I joined the Boy’s Brigade.

Us locals call ihome Snorbans and although our abbey has been a cathedral for well over a century we still call it the abbey. The biggest loss in the last forty years or so has been the little town centre pubs that have gone. Happily we still have plenty left, my challenge is to stay out of them during the day.

        ……

        JH: Indeed.

  2. 16. a. It has been said that Obama’s not even President in his
    own house.
    b. Shirley, shouldn’t it be “Ex President and Mrs Obama”?
    c. Can an (allegedly) non American call on “every
    American?

  3. Aaaaaannnnd… that is not the emoji I typed. It looks like Pippy Longstocking!

Wait a minute! Maybe I want to use that emoji after all!

I would be able to hold a horse with one hand 🐎🙋🏻‍♀️!
