New Year’s Eve [9 to 15]

15. For our fallen

There’s an interesting thought about the fallen in an online context … it might be more “fallen away” in many cases, most usually due to policy differences, stances. There’s not a lot which can be done about that.

Amfortas had differences too, too few to mention, but much which was appreciative of friendship and that stayed until his last typing to me. Vice-versa too. Another I’m thinking about where friendship overshadows differences is Rolf or Sackerson.

There are those who were simply taken, e.g. Chuckles and Ripper, always welcome here. Haiku I suspect was taken from this world due to age. Many though drifted away due to Woke or left ideology. I had a comment dropped the other day, calling me a horrible person, a “Rugby playing bully”. That was well out of order as I’m not playing rugby at all these days.

I’m aware that you, reader, our patron in most cases, regular or occasional, are observing my tone, my handling of the passing over of Chris, Amfortas … essentially what we ourselves would hope for … a dignified exit. In my case, having never had close family I knew … those that I did know are now all gone … well, it’s more a case of mates and mate-esses who are still here.

Which is fine by me, as each I count as close to me, even at a geographical distance. And that’s all there is, good compatriot … all there needs to be too … after God in Three Persons. Amfortas was a Catholic Knight, so his Church will most certainly turn out for the yet to be announced funeral. Good thing too. Plus nice to know about his son being in the action.

There was an X by a big player, saying how wonderful Elon was in buying X and exposing corruption. That’s as maybe but there’s another side for conservative voices.
