Most of the trad carols I like as statements of faith at Christmas, some hymns I like a bit better but with certain hymns and carols, something in them lifts them to another level … it might be the tune, the arrangement, the people singing it, the setting … and in this case today it’s because the drone is so close to my soul … not everyone likes drone but I do … in this case Yo Yo Ma and the pipes, plus Allison herself … with all her awards, she’s still anxious if she did well or not.

Now the downside … YYM is WEFer through and through, most unfortunate … the very notion of something horrible in connection to such a lovely carol … I’d rather not dwell upon it.
