15. The Single Justice System was just the start of this dystopian prevention of a natural, and common law, legal system. Whoever thought of agreeing to leave defence pleas in the hands of the prosecution must have been brought up on a diet of Kafka, or a single issue, tunnel visioned, political ideology. The next step is, obviously in their eyes, the prevention of being tried before a jury of one’s peers. Perhaps the ‘right’ decisions in trials in Soviet Russia, Nazi Germany, Pol Pot’s Cambodia, and Xi Jing Ping Pong’s China, have been seen as a legal perfection? It seems that Pte Frazer has been right all along.

Having a jury means that the Plebs have a say and can override government edicts up to a point. They don’t want that.
Removing juries has always been on the agenda for our government and it doesn’t matter who is in charge of it. They want to turn the UK into the old USSR and they are succeeding. Next time we should go for a constitution like the US but make sure we are clear over the 2A bit. No infringement and that includes ammo.
It’s true what they say though. Soft times create soft people and we have had is good for a very long time.
