Re #16 – Openreach operate the old BT landline network on behalf of numerous ISP’s. So unless you have Virgin Media or one of the smaller fibre company networks passing your property you are stuffed. If Deryl Lynn has a good signal from one of the UK mobile phone networks then a cheap 4/5G router is the quickest way to get back online. I’ve got one of these, and it works well:

You can buy “Pre Loaded” Data only SIM’s from Vodafone & EE (the same company but their mobile network, NOT landline) from Argos. I use them in my motorhome and 120GB valid for 12 months is between £50 – £60, but shorter term ones are available on the ‘net. Alternatively, a no-contract SIM from operators like Smarty or GiffGaff, with monthly recurring billing which you can cancel any time.
This isn’t intended to be a series of adverts, just some helpful advice.
Also, Vodafone SIM’s need to be “activated” online – tricky if you don’t have internet access, whereas EE SIM’s are “Plug & Play”. Virtually every shop checkout sells cards from many of the smaller MNVO’s*. Just make sure you buy one using a mobile network which you know works in your area:
