Tuesday [16]

(1606) Almost evening all. (1659)

Nostalgia?

The Corries had a little ditty, one verse going:

The hills are bare now
And Autumn leaves lie thick and still
O’er land that is lost now
Which those so dearly held

Uh huh … that could also apply to any of our lives “back then” in our yoof (not in the ’45) … better to leave it undisturbed? Or allow us to go back in the time machine?

Until this summer, there wasn’t really time to look back, except as part of the blogging, but this summer, some of us have gone on holiday, other things have happened … I found myself looking back … in fact, I looked up an exgf from decades ago … and there she was. Uh huh.

Today, I tried to pin down, not songs released at the time but songs staying on the mind. I mean there were hundreds released from, say, 1963 to 1966 but only a few have remained on the mind … a tumultuous time when I changed schools twice, not a stable time.

Though I know there were Chubby Checker, Dion, Del Shannon, other individual male singers … Elvis for some … though I was never into him … the male bands didn’t really register in the conscious of quite a few boys until the Beatles and Stones … and that was mainly 1964/5, with Satisfaction coming out in 66.

No, it was before then and the flurry of female artists who remain significant for me … Helen Shapiro, Leslie Gore, Little Millie, Little Eva, The Exciters … there were girl singers constantly in 63. Paul and Paula, April Stevens … Nino Tempo, Roy Orbison were some males I recall.

To my mind, something was certainly lost between 63 and 64, as I changed schools.

It also changed in my consciousness … Beatles, Stones, other bands … remember Thane Russell and Three? That was 66 onwards. Where were the girls then? Melanie was the only one I remember from the time … the Ruby Tuesday cover came in 67, outside the range of this post item.

Before 1963? Purple People Eater and Running Bear were never my music, too early … The Shadows were in 1962, no singing bands I remember. Dion, Ricky Nelson yes. Eddy Cochrane not really … way before my time.

Going to sign off with a song from 1963 … now which one? 🤔

One of the criticisms of Simenon, the books, the films, is that they’re too gritty, too dwelling on human misery, on rotten family relations … maybe so … in this better than average episode, Maigret sympathises with the crim, whilst the ones not caught have nothing happen to them … though karma will eventually catch up. Supposedly.

Tuesday [11]

Post WW1 history, heard from MMutR

The phone is the worst possible way to hear a tale, then later recall it authentically and write it up for readers because:

  1. Aural has never been my forte, visual has.
  2. Age has savagely dimmed memory sommit awful.
  3. I’m no multitasker … writing notes from phone? Forgeddit.
  4. He whinges about it not being accurate even after that.

Having said all that, he’s actually wrong about it not being accurate … the parts I mentioned were most accurate, then I added my own take, as explained clearly to readers. If he wants it better than that, then email or text it. ☺️

So this below is as good as I can recall it:

During WW1, young men were sent off to be slaughtered in order to please elites who were having arguments and thus needed plebs dying for them … plebs they cared not a toss about … exactly as it is today.

Right … this meant that the male population of the good sort, the worthwhile sort, were hugely diminished … (it was repeated in the USSR in WW2, with the murderous Stalin who also hated his people – I added that bit, ok?) …

So, with those males no longer around, only the emasculated males plus females being around after the war, with broken good men … women started asserting themselves, demanding everything under the sun … and not good women but malcontented leftists, socialist harpies like Pankhurst and the kind (I add … see Betty Friedan during Vietnam, plus Steinem, plus Hanoi Jane).

I also take over the tale from here … all subsequent troubles in society are because the wrong sorts of females, with twisted ideas of what feelings demanded, rather than the required crisis -solution-resolution mindset … came into power in all the wrong ways … just look at Rachel from accounts, Crockett, AOC etc. … and the result, as they do the will of globopsycho males they obey, their paymasters … is utter disaster.

Tuesday [5 to 10]

(0926) Running “way behind” here, so much on X this morning … they split quotes, which means double saving, compressing, sizing … worth it but it doubles the time. Plus clothes and bedding washing morning. Trying to stay on top of it. (1037)

Tuesday [1 to 4]

(0707) Morning all, low poison cloud out there, Steve is now on dog duty for a week. (0808)

4. I need to return to the story of the sexes, briefly

Steve’s off on dog duty at a friend’s. I firstly feel that, apart from the compassionate side, it gives him a wunnerful break away from it all, which is a crucial aspect of man and woman self-management. Toods rocks in, unbeknowns to me, with precisely what is needed at this moment, vigorously underscoring my contention that man without woman in at least some form is a sad creature.

Woman civilises a man, plus she keeps him on his toes so he does not become a lazy slob. If the “balance of power” is altered in either direction, we get Gitler/Stalin/Starmer on the one hand … and Matriarchy, Wokerati style, plus non-comp Reeves on the other, with insane policies of false virtue signalling and financial profligacy on the other.

The right balance, therefore, with man in his proper role as chivalrous knight and unflappable rock is therefore prevented, once that balance is forced to one side or the other.

I had zero influence on Toods, being asleep through the night, and yet her comments were precisely what was needed … plus they have an overall “gluing effect” on the unherdable sites complex. Another is Roobs in her own way (seen in association with Legiron and Cynerae St Mary, his Danish lady).

Toods and Isilme here … and Julia over at Orphans … speaking personally, are the glue keeping us sane and not scorched earth, like Anakin Skywalker and that village he razed. Speaking more broadly, do you think Donny could do it without Melania and the other ladies and girls? On the other hand, he provides the rock they need.

Which is precisely what Paul in Ephesians was on about. Now look at this at TDS today:

Just looking at those harpies at Merton … you’d hardly call them “women” … well let’s say you’d not call them “good” women. Combine estrogen with the demonic and there you have it. Combine androgen with the demonic and there you have the throwbacks doing all the raping, torturing, mutilating and murdering in the name of moloch.

And who are the monsters trying to destroy? As Maggie pointed out … families, trad families to be more precise.

2. Rather than providing the reader with useful information

… this is an exercise in something others are warning about:

Those charts are of no use to the layman (normie) as it has no contextual details above, below, around. So “Rush goes into the middling “watch” category … politics sound on many topics but certainly no economist. Plus too much of this “could” and “if”.

However, keep it on the shelf in case any corroboration comes along.

Two Maigrets in one day is a bit much, think you not? So let’s do it.

This is the one with the Flemish versus French issue … no love, apparently, is lost between the two. Actually, she in the episode is the second today to say the French can’t be trusted … they lie etc. etc. And I found out yesterday that Belarus and Poland detest each other … I really could not say on either count.
