8. Solar scam – is all on Ed Miliband, a zealot if ever there was one. Down my way the summer thus far in terms of temperature is no higher than last year; certainly lower than 2006 was, or 2003. Compared to 1976, when for 15 days straight the daytime temperature didn’t go below 32°C and the tarmac up on the main Ringwood Road melted, this year is rather pleasant. But Ed says this weather will change the “British way of life” – he should look at the what was happening here during the very hot summer of 1940, when we were on the brink of having our way of life not only changed but completely removed.
