(1234) Afternoon … sun’s out. (1309)

A cutting edge post for today:

There ya go.
16. Would love to have been there
… trying to cross the road every few minutes:

15. Indeed

Going to take me awhile to work through Steve’s links. First up:

13. Dim Sims
There aren’t all that many Oz foods I’m dying to try again … not coz they’re bad but because they’re here too, e.g. meat pies, plus some of ours are down there, e.g. Yorkshire puds. But one Oz, sort of Chinese, food is the humble chippy dim sim … still have not decided if I like steamed with soy or fried better.

Best eaten using chopsticks … the little blighters can get quite hot.
I haven’t tried the Oz variation but have tasted various types around the world. My conclusion is that deep fried is better.
……
JH: The other is sloppier, yes, a bit like a different activity.
16.SWEDISH DRIVING SONG
As I drove into Sweden, on the second of September,
A strange thing happened to me, that I always will remember,
Well he was going one way, I was going t’other,
What happened next I was soon to discover.
CHORUS
Musher-ingum-a do rum bang, Whoops now, my fog lamp’s gone,
Whoops now, my chassis’ bent, They’ve changed from left to right.
At the traffic lights I faced a car, the boot just like the bonnet,
The passengers were so friendly, they were waving to me from it.
When the lights changed to green, their waving fairly won me,
For those very friendly Swedes came a crashing down upon me.
Well I weaved in and out, that bit wasn’t so bad,
Till I came to an island, and I thought they’d all gone mad.
‘Cos I went round the island, and I went round the island
And I went round the island, and I went round the island.
Well, my car it is a write off, it makes my poor head reel,
‘Cos the only thing to take me home is my steering wheel.
But I’ll be back next year, I’ll be ready for the fight,
‘Cos I’m the only one that’s left, to stand up for my rights,
Sung to the tune of “Whiskey In The Jar”
from my misspent yoof. Good clean fun. 🙂
Two news items presented to me today on my browser. First, from the Indy, unemployment figures rising alarmingly. Second, from the Odious Toerags, warning of a further drop in net migration next year could result in labour shortages. Fodder for the dim someones to believe both and ask no questions.
