21. Steve’s and IYE’s in comments, my thoughts on 20 below

It’s speculation on my part but based on the sum total of what we’ve been looking at:

a. DJT has a lot on his plate, his concentration was on Day 1, he can’t watch everything.

b. In the past, he’s been quite suceptible to gruff, straight speakers … at least they present themselves that way … Pompeo, even McCarthy.

c. He loves to be around the high and mighty … but he likes achievers above all … his major thing is to achieve and succeed .. if those around feed that, he’s susceptible. Though Fauci’s a weasel, he was still the main guru in his eyes and the idea of Warp Speed appealed … wanted to quickly wipe out the virus in America first … easy meat for Birx, Brock, Pence etc.

d. Stargate is an extension of that … wanting to be associated with the Big Venture … our type of person loves that, just as MAGA and MtheWGA have loved the turnaround … compare to Starmer’s utopia.

e. I’m not disagreeing but do pause and look at the clear downside mentioned by a few, not just naysayers … all of these have seen the Skynet implications, esp. the mRNA implications … and it’s those in the vaxx field who know it’s bollox … that hitching it to an exciting adventure is wrong. The exciting adventure itself is magnifique … this tawdry hitching though will kill humanity, as sure as night follows day.

f. An extension of this, another way to look at it, is “bundling”, which the Chinese do. Introduce “the” first two items of a finite three, say. The first two always are what the people desperately needed. The bundled in third though is the killer. Beneath the euphoria of all the early victories, seeps in the killer virus of the third. The euphoric exclaim, annoyed: “But it’s all wonderful, don’t be so “negative”.” Negative? Preventing global atrocity?

g. The snakes are all around DJT … are they to be found far away, or else trying to sneak in to influence him close up, backed by organisations with untold funding? They’re no use far away. If they’re clear enemy type, he sees it instantly … McConnell, Graham, Murkowski, Collins … so what do the snakes do? Appear as gung ho men speakin’ DJT’s language instead. McCarthy did that, Matis. Donald loves the police and troops, loves to be around them and vice-versa. Not so Vindman, Milley. They don’t love him at all, nor do the Capitol police, under Pelosi influence. He sees it too late.

h. The Donald wants to be loved … a great weakness. If not, then respected … which is better. Coupled with the art of the deal in his eyes … he’s both succeeded and failed in the past.

i. Is this vastly better than the whole shower of the past four years? Well obviously so … is the Pope globalist as they now say? Yes, so many good things going on right now … telling off the WEF like that. Except they know that anyway, it was nearing the end of its usefulness as a tool. If they can bundle in death during their very capitulation, they can feel “not a complete loss” … the west ruined, civil war, all good stuff.

j. Doing great things, the Donald? No argument … in the main … but some things he’s just not seeing … no time to see, plus they’re hiding these things … things being bundled in. Watchers can see them, even Alex Jones, and we’re also shouting out: “Behind you! Behind you!” But the tech gurus swiftly pull the plug on us … you saw that earlier with Mike E. Go over and read The Slog today.

Friday afternoon

Not enough time before politics for a film, how about a Nero Wolfe episode?

This series of Wolfe stories had some great episodes, some not so good, the acting variable, the production values good, some of the storylines good. My main criticism was that they were an ensemble, taking different parts in different episodes, displaying their stage acting chops … some doing it well, two or three almost insufferable, quite OTT. One of the baddies here overacts something awful … never mind … overall not a bad episode.

Friday [20]

(1345) Anomalies abound (1422)

The trouble as a pundit, in my particular case, is that I’m lineball on so much … increasingly so with more experience.

Take one of our main men, Steve, for whom I have huge respect. He is probably our most proTrump tavern patron … incidentally, Steve’s just posted this at 947:

Take one of our main men, IYE, for whom I have huge respect. Not so enamoured of Trump’s doings in all respects and in this post, you’ll see some of these brought by me.

Toodles is a protestant Christian, yet she comes to similar conclusions to Ann Barnhardt, a fierce Catholic warrior. Both imho are real Christians at ground level … therefore they do see through the fog. Look at this from Ann:

That’s no antiTrump diatribe but it sure notes anomalies which should not even be there. Now look at this one:

Mike is straight MAGA, has been for as long as I remember … so I stopped, thought … 🤔 … then looked for his next piece … but what’s this? As I clicked like and retweet, plus others were pressing like as well, it was rejecting my clicks. Uh huh, I went to post on it:

I’m not saying Nole is doing that, nor even Yaccarino, but the algorithm, overseen by the Yaccaminions, certainly is kicking in … I’m not alone … others were unable to view things either and were checking with fellow Xers. A bit too much command control … then in comes Nole, tweeting that X is the free speech platform. Uh huh.

I mosied on over to Last Refuge (Sundance), a clear proMAGA, with reservations about the boss:

Referring to the JFK etc. Request? Not order? Meanwhile, those we’d expect to backslide are:

At the same time, this:

Why do I have this vague unease that we’re being played by one or more of them? Meanwhile:

17. Vox on the latest Executive v Judiciary standoff

https://voxday.net/2025/01/24/and-so-it-begins-5

“Of course, this is going to be a battle. I suspect the ban will be upheld in a limited capacity, so that those designated “enemy combatants” will be barred from conveying citizenship on their children born in the United States. Then, of course, it’s a simple matter to clarify that the term “enemy combatant” includes everyone who has physically invaded the country.

However, it would be much more effective if President Trump simply ordered that none of his executive orders are subject to judicial branch review, which is of course his legal right under the Constitutional principle of the separation of powers. His other recourse would be to declare martial law and suspend the Constitution under the very valid principle of the ongoing foreign invasion of the United States.”

11. DAD drops at 948

The French Senate has voted to end lifetime benefits previously granted to former presidents and prime ministers – hostages Say They Were Hidden in UN Shelter – the Ministry of the Interior, the Loire-Atlantique prefecture and the national police struggled to agree in the middle of the week, to describe the police operation organized Tuesday in Nantes – two or tree years ago the large warehouse of the InterMarchë supermarket (about 5km N of my village) closed with the loss of 222 jobs … for what use this large building could be adapted … appears that it will be used to produce items for (so called) mini-nuclear generators.

Quilting has its own battles

Having had a look at crocheting, right, and at knitting … thought I’d have a look at quilting, what could possibly go wrong? Well, for a start … do you stitch in the ditch or beside the ditch, do you use 5 inch or other patches, bought in packs or from scraps?

And there are all sorts of genteel wars going on. Do you use a long arm or standard? Where to plunge in for my first quilting vid, maybe my last?

Helppppp!

Well … I just happen to have a picture of a friend’s scrappy quilt from a few years back:

Some of you longtime blog visitors will know her … Danish lady living in Scotland, with a Welshman given to helmets, whisky and wearing legirons.

8. Toodles corner

I sent this to Toods:

… and she replied:

”Mobile Civic Center once known as The Mobile Auditorium…during which I have seen and listened to several bands, musicians, watched plays, circuses, worked with America’s Junior Miss, attended Mardi Gras Balls….

They had started taking it down already. Why they didn’t keep it in good repair I will never know.  There was a theater to the side of it, not in the round. It was nice at one time.  I didn’t mind the auditorium. It was fine in its day and for the town … for Mobile at the time.

It was modern but not a horrible modern. Had some interesting features.

We were happy with it at the time … although sad for the many old homes done away with. At the time, rough people were dwelling in them or several empty ones. At some point, the downtown area revived in that area which was good.  Further west but not too far,  the old sections were still intact among a certain kind that surrounded parts of the old area.  Still  nice in that area … nice sections. Well the roads are terrible. Oak tree roots are a problem plus Mobile, like other towns, stopped taking care of itself in the last 30 years!

Anyway the old town homes that are still intact and vibrant hoods, I used to give tours when a Trail Maid. I liked doing that!”

Now, Trail Maids … I have posted on them before … our Toodles was one:

Friday [1 to 6]

(0027) If you chaps and chapesses are agreeable, I’m finding this method of sleeping better … drop off earlier, which means not being awake most of the evening, waking for an hour in the dead of night, checking things and “doing” NOWP plus this post, zonking again after an hour, waking maybe 0700, starting the day. It also requires a short snooze middle of the day. AKH plus Toodles next post. (0119)
