Fine motor skills

Is it fair to say that our side of politics reveres those who can build fine things, from huge dams’ intricate workings to the mechanics of a car to computer tech to cabinet makers?

I for one am in awe.

And there’s a tendency, politically, to embrace trades skills whilst perhaps dismissing arty-pharty things, popular musicians and so on. I say that that’s so wrong … the skill level of a gymnast, a knitter, crochetter, finger picking guitarist etc. etc., let alone artists in the near Rembrandt league … these people are simply awesome.

My mother knitted me plenty of jumpers, inc. big, bulky woollen ones, always stolen by girlfriends … and rightly so … have we boys really looked at what they take to produce?

Here are three examples of true skill … wish I could do these things.

Thursday [5 to 10]

(0830) Morning all … snow again this morning … interesting … missed a chance to sled as it’s now rush hour. Oh well. (0914)

10. As one does of course

9. Some truly idiotic leftist woman tweeted

”Republicans are out there acting like California “deserved” these unimaginably devastating fires …”

Talk about the most astounding mendacious projection … what brings a brain to write such things? Sassafras sums it up (abridged) …

8. Men out of women’s sport please

7. Lord Toby

6. Sleep

There’ve been many bloggers and Xers, plus NHSers, on about broken or lack of sleep. Being self-centred here and speaking just de moi … I’m finding it better to do first sleep early, say 2000, waking at midnight, doing some things and posting, then a good sleep till about 0800 … it covers Stevedrops, plus this is when many could do with a new dose of posting.

5. Rolf at Now and Next

HERE

This paragraph adds to what Brit pundits are saying:

“It is not clear why it should be necessary to complete such an enquiry before doing anything to prosecute and punish those who have broken existing laws. But it is clear why a full historic investigation into police and local/national government negligence and collusion would be embarrassing – and not just for Labour.”

Good point … it’s a political statement more than anything, innit?

Thursday [1 to 4]

https://orphansofliberty.blogspot.com/2025/01/the-nasty-details-behind-palisades-in-la.html

… plus the shameful vote in Westminster last evening … more on that below. (0057)

4. Moosh corner

Four gals, three guys … seem good odds to me, just quietly.

3. Chanel and the cost of Greenland

2. Steve at 933

Four: Viganò Fires Back, CIA’s MK Ultra horrors, much more…..

Three: Dozens of American Patriots Honor Ashli Babbitt at the US Capitol, Trump goes off at Newsom, much more…..

Two: Uke sit-rep, much more…..

1. The shame of politicians in Britain

… along with police, courts, councils … plus the Woke voting public.

As for the vote itself … three line Labour whip that any Labour MP not voting no to an inquiry would be punished.

Starmer himself then voted to abstain.
