  1. Thanks, a fine film about the US newspaper business in the early fifties, with criminal politics, the fragility of integrity and the threat of popular tabloid journalism delivering little but trivia. A strong cast too, especially Bogart. A comment from one of the reviews is worth quoting –

    “Deadline USA reminds us of the good old days, when you could believe what you read in the New York Times.”

    It does just that, possibly propagating a myth about the good old days of journalistic integrity, but a myth worth preserving as an ideal. Good film, well worth watching.
